The boy at the top of the mountain

The main characters in the book were Pierrot, Beatrix, Ernst and Hitler.  Pierrot's parents died when he was seven and so he is sent to an orphanage.  A letter arrives and it is addressed to him.  It is from his  aunt Beatrix and she invites him to come and stay with her.  She worked as a housemaid in a house at the top of a mountain called the Obersalzberg.  She worked as a housemaid in Hitler's house and Pierrot and Hitler form a bond.  Hitler sees Pierrot almost as a son and Pierrot changes.  

He only cares about two things pleasing Hitler and the future of the fatherland, Germany.  The character who I liked in the book was a girl called Katarina.  Katarina was a girl in Pierrot's school in Germany.  I liked her because all her views were her own and she knew that what Hitler was doing was wrong.  Pierrot liked her, however she didn't like him that much anymore.  She had noticed that Pierrot had changed and was becoming more and more like Hitler.     

Animal Farm

                                  

The main characters in the book are Mr.Jones, Napoleon and Snowball. Mr.Jones was very harsh on the animals and made them work too hard and so the animals took over the farm. They changed the name of the farm from Manor Farm to Animal Farm. The animals needed a leader to guide them and so Napoleon,a wise horse took the reigns. However,the power went to his head and he started changing rules for his own benefit. A group of the animals thought that this was unfair and so overthrow him. The character who i liked in the book was Snowball. He was a small pig whose views were his own. He thought that Napoleon was treating some animals better than others and this was true. When Snowball confronted Napoleon, Napoleon denied it and started spreading rumours about Snowball trying to overthrow him. Snowball had no other choice other than leaving and from then on when something went wrong on the farm, they would blame Snowball.

Soldier Dog Book Report

Soldier dog is about a boy called Stanely who lives on a farm and is dreading his time at home. His father has changed and has become more aggressive and less kind after Stanley's mother died and his brother left to go to war. One day Stanely let out his fathers prize dog when she was on heat and Stanely's dad became furious. Bitches are never the same after breeding, they cant race like before.

Stanely then runs away after his father killed the "impure" puppies of the race dog. Stanely enlists in the Dog Messenger Service because he wants to find his brother and stay with him until the war ends and is given a new dog. He was only fourteen when he enlisted. Because of this he was only given one dog instead of three because the commander didn't want him to be sent to war.  Stanely eventually makes it to the the front lines and witnesses the horrors of war.


Overall this is a great book and I would recommend it to all teenagers.

Anna and the French Kiss

                        

This is the perfect novel for any love-crazy teenagers that are looking for a fun read. It is filled with amazing, individually quirky characters and has a fantastic plot that has you desperate for the next twist or turn. Although this book is set in a slightly more unfamiliar setting, the reader quickly comes to love every aspect of it. The melodramatic storyline and characters make it a must read. 

A character I liked in this novel was Etienne St Clair. I liked him because he was funny, treated all the other characters well and was genuinely nice. He was the character who was liked by everyone, which is interesting to read about in this exciting storyline. 

A Girl Called Blue

Blue O'Malley, a young orphan, was left outside the orphanage at Larch Hill by her mother when she was just a baby.  As she grew older she as always getting into trouble with the nuns and when she thinks life can't get any worse, her best friend drowns and is never found again.  Blue never thought she would find happiness until she found a sixty year old woman and her thirty year old son, the Mooney family.

I think the character that changed in the book was Sister Regina.  At the start of the book she was a bully to the children, she would hit them for no apparent reason and punish them for the smallest of things.  She would also mutter hurtful words under her breath, knowing that the children would hear it, such as orphan.
By the end of the book she realized that what she was doing was wrong, thanks to a brave young girl who finally confronted her.  After this incident, she decided she needed to be more like a mother than a bully to the children and so started complimenting them and let them have some fun. 

The Final Problem

This book was just fantastic."The Final Problem" is the last book in the "Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes", it is also the book where he faces Professor James Moriarty. This book was adapted for the episode "The Reichenbach Fall" on the TV series "Sherlock". I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Moriarty is Menacing and extremely intelligent and is definitely Holmes' equal. 10/10 I highly recommend it.

No characters seemed to change in this story. Holmes' was a bit more scared because of Moriarty. Watson was the same as he always is. Moriarty the same as he was introduced, "The Napoleon of Crime". He was creepy and you feared him. So only Holmes changed to become much less confident.

The Theme in this book is good versus evil but there is a sense of finality apparent also throughout the book. At the beginning of the book Watson talks about having a "heavy heart" while writing this and during the story giving the sense of finality and throughout the book they talk about Moriarty being Holmes' ultimate foe reflecting a theme of good versus evil.
